Allow users to add new inline comments in the editor view

Description

Update

  • Since the release of Confluence 8.3.0 the option to view and resolve inline comments in the editor has been added natively to Confluence Data Center. This means that the functionality of our own app is not compatible with this Confluence version (and newer), and the app will not officially support new Confluence versions moving forward. Subsequently, we’re shifting our development efforts away from feature development and improvements for Inline Comments in the Editor, and will only continue to maintain the app for the foreseeable future. We will therefore close this improvement with the resolution 'Wont' do'.

As a user I want to add new inline comments while I'm in the editor view, so I don't need to save the page and leave my context.

This feature is very relevant for us!
We would love to use this feature in our document reviews!

Agreed, processing comments is key.

Hi Daniel, Hi Andy, thanks for your posts. At present there is no new news in relation to when this issue may be focused on. Our developers still need to refine this in terms of ascertaining the best approach for implementation. We will update this ticket once there is new information. Thanks, Thomas (K15t)

Agreed.
At present, all you can do is view comments.
You really need to be able to process them while in edit mode.

This would be a very welcome feature!
